Charlie is an only child who grew up on a scrapyard. One afternoon he went for a walk, but soon got lost, and before he knew it he'd reached a sharp cliff.

He heard a loud rumble, looked down, and was amazed to see a giant, hairy, purple face that looked up at him and boomed "Hello Charlie!"
